I am starting this blog as a recommendation on coping with the decision to adopt, the end of fertility treatments, the type of adoption that is "right" for us, the waiting, the excitement of being chosen by a birth mother, following her through her pregnancy (maybe?), the waiting (again!!), the birth of our son or daughter and finally the excitement of being a mother....
I am not much of a writer (I know everyone says that...but it REALLY IS true), but I was told that journaling or blogging my adoption experience would be therapeutic.
I am excited about our journey. I'm sure it will be a long journey, but I'm really thrilled about starting this process. I'm thrilled about one day being a mother and I feel confident that we made the right decision to adopt.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
This is my mom's favorite bible verse. She has it on several different things in her house. I love it too and find comfort in knowing that the Lord does have a plan for me, Russ and baby boy/girl Gay. As we start our journey, ALL that I ask of my family and friends is to remember us in your prayers. Please pray for the birth mother and father (wherever they are), as well. I know the Lord has already chosen them for us...they just have to find their way to me and Russ now!! How exciting....
How is your adoption journey coming along? That is an excellent verse and always brought me great comfort in our decade-long journey! May your journey only be as long as it needs to be to bring you to your child!
